Glistening Edges is a cyberpunk digital tabletop RPG system designed to optimize the game experience allowing users to find groups nearby, keep characters online to play and evolve in multiple tables.

Digital, but not a videogame! Our focus on this project is to design and build a mobile app, we want to use technology to enhance the classic face to face experience for tabletop games making more enjoyable and intuitive to build characters, dynamize the game mechanics and help you to make new friends! We want to make RPGs more accessible, intuitive and enjoyable.

However, we do not have forgotten about collectors and old school game masters, a printed adaptation running D20, maps and battle boards will also be provided.

Our adventures will be set on a sci-fi futuristic world, our own world wrecked by war, greediness and unwise use of technology. Humanity — or what left of us — are spreading through colonies and settlements around tellurian planets of our solar system. Each planet environment forces us to adapt and evolve in different ways but our interdependence as species still playing an important role to organize our society. For those who can afford — mech and bio-enhancements lead us to question if we still humans after all.

Violence, poverty and inevitable diseases are the leftovers for the rest of us. The resistance of a few fragmented rebel groups looks without hope when the plutocrats abandon his humanity to rise above his own mortality, consolidating a perpetual slavery system set up to exploit the common people from birth to death. How long we will allow their playing gods with our fate?

Meanwhile, an omnipresent Artificial Intelligence moves silently in the shadows, setting secret bases, developing unknow tech and collecting data across the solar system. Would it be forthcoming takeover?

For decades tabletop RPGs have been providing entertainment and a sense of community to misfits like ourselves, we want to continue the culture improving the technology to find new ways share stories and adventures with our friends around a table. Features like group search will be designed to make players discover and meet new people, and play more, strengthening our community.

From the narrative aspect, the game intent to explore new perspectives about what is to be human when we lost reference and meaning about what we are as species. In order to recover that meaning, our storylines will propose an archeology of the past ( our present ), to understand what lead our players to their dystopic state of affairs and perhaps find a way to fix our society from a context of excruciating plutocracy, unwise use of genetic engineering, cybernetics, massive surveillance and new forms of slavery.

Make no mistake, the odds are against us. We do what we can with what we have, at the present we lack resources to safely complete and deliver the project, but well, the world is a dangerous place, isn’t it? If we do not reach our financial goals we will keep working until we end it or it ends us. If we do not get funded, be aware that delays and unforeseen issues can happen. But we will do our best and be extremely transparent in all aspects of the project.

The good news is that we can build it together and the risk drops a bit when every single person joins us. So, bring your crew and let’s make it happen.

We will not wait until reach or funding goals to start working. It’s already happening, live, daily and you are welcome to participate. A public backlog is set up for you to follow the progress, see what we are doing on the spot and intervene in the process. We also will broadcast live design sessions on our twitch and youtube channel.
